The orbital station is a high-tech apparatus that is located in the orbit of the planet and protect her from occupation. The transfer of the OS and its change of location (planet) is carried out with the help of Hyperjump - a special ability of the Orbital Station.
Hyperjump allows you to instantly move the OS to any of your planets, regardless of distance.
Hyperjump is a very costly ability, so it can only be used once per day. But there is a skill that can significantly reduce the cooldown of Hyperjump, up to 4 hours.
A hyperjump can be compared to teleportation, but this is not fairy tales or magic, but high technology and real open space, where you need to move the entire Orbital Station. It takes 25 minutes to reconfigure all systems and prepare the OS for the Hyperjump, after which the Orbital Station is instantly transferred to the selected planet.
If you lose a planet during the preparation time, the Hyperjump will not be performed, you will have to wait for the standard recharge time and try again.
Hyperjump preparation time can be reduced up to 5 minutes by leveling a special skill.
Hyperjump consumes energy, which is written off depending on the number of fleets at the Orbital Station. Standard value - 6% of the cost space ships.
If the orbital station does not have the required amount of energy, Hyperjump will be unavailable
The cost of Hyperjump can be reduced by leveling the corresponding skill. The minimum value is 1% of the cost of the fleet.
In addition to the above factors, the cost and time of which can be partially compensated by successively studying each of the skills, there is one more condition under which the Hyperjump is not available - incoming and outgoing flights.
These flights to the planet with the OS temporarily block the use of Hyperjump, with the exception of Hercules ships performing auto-delivery of resources.
What can Hyperjump be used for?
First of all - to protect the planet - the presence of OS on the planet does not allow it to be captured, even if all the defensive buildings on it are destroyed.
An important nuance - an enemy Blockade or Bombardment on the Planet will not allow Hyperjumping to it, even if it is already "prepared".
Another application may be the need to drop the planet - while there is an OS on it, this is impossible.
And, of course, this is choosing a more convenient location for the OS.
